Hier ist nochmal eine Zusammenfassung der Ereignisse rund um die Bahro von Joorea:

Zunächst erschien Nick White in The Watcher’s Pub und fast zeitgleich erschien Douglas Sharper in Blabberty’s Bevin.

Douglas Sharper wird angesprochen, weil er einen Bahro getötet hat.

Frage: hat der Bahro Sie angegriffen?
Antwort: andauernd.

Frage: Würden Sie Ihre Expedition als erfolgreich bezeichnen?
Antwort: das würde ich.

Frage: was werden Sie jetzt tun?
Antwort: das sagte ich bereits letzte Nacht.

Frage: Haben Sie und warum haben Sie einen Bahro getötet?
Antwort: ja, ich habe einen Bahro erschossen, einen bösen.

Frage: Woher wussten Sie, dass es ein böser war?
Antwort: Kann ich nicht sagen. Ich bin dort lange mit ihnen zusammen gewesen.

Frage: Sagen Sie uns, wie sie das wissen konnten.
Antwort: ich weiß es einfach. Es braucht Zeit. Sie bewegen sich unterschiedlich. Subtile Dinge hier und da. Man muss die Kreaturen einfach kennen. Ich kann es einfach nicht beschreiben.

Frage: Hat der DRC Ihnen noch andere Aufträge gegeben?

Antwort: ich glaube, es hat keinem von ihnen gefallen.

Antwort: ich brachte ihn….Jemand schickt mir gerade eine Nachricht, dass Nick gesagt hat, ich hätte einen guten Bahro getötet? Hat irgendjemand davon gehört?

Douglas Sharper bekommt die Information, dass Nick White sich im Watcher’s Pub befindet. Die Forscher sagen zu Douglas Sharper: warum gehen Sie nicht hin und fragen ihn?

Also alle Mann rüber zum Watcher’s Pub.

Nick White: Sharper, Sie wissen, dass Sie nicht sicher waren, ob sie einen guten getötet haben oder nicht.

Douglas Sharper: ich weiß es ohne jeden Zweifel, wie ich schon mehrmals sagte.

Nick White: wie ich Ihnen bereits ins Gesicht sagte: bei diesem sind Sie nicht sicher. Ich versteh nicht, dass Sie die meiste Zeit nichts darüber sagen.

Douglas Sharper: geh und verbringe ein paar Wochen mit diesen Dingen. Dann komm her und mach mich an.

Einige Forscher sagen, dass sie gehen würden. Aber dass der DRC es ihnen nicht erlauben würde…

Nick White: …weil ihr in 30 Sekunden sterben würdet. In diesem Punkt stimme ich mit Sharper überein.

Sharper: schockierend. Keiner versteht. Ich bin es langsam leid, immer wieder die Gefährlichkeit dieser Dinge erklären zu müssen. Sie habe es verdient, zu sterben. Es sind abscheuliche Kreaturen.

In diesem Moment liegt plötzlich ein toter Bahro auf der flachen Kuppel im Watcher’s Pub. 2 weitere Bahro erscheinen, einer ist sehr unruhig.

Douglas Sharper: was…?

Nick White: Heiliger….!

Douglas Sharper: wie haben die das hierher bekommen? Das ist er. Zurück! Bleibt von dem Körper weg! Fasst ihn nicht an! Vertraut mir.

Nick White: tut, was er sagt.

Douglas Sharper: bleibt einfach weg von ihm. Es ist böse.

Der unruhige Bahro schreit leise auf.

Nick White: Leute, ich würde Sharper in dieser Sache vertrauen. Fasst es nicht an. Ich gehe.

Wenn einer der Forscher etwas sagt, schaut der unruhige Bahro ihn an. Die Forscher sind aufgewühlt, versuchen, mit den Bahro zu sprechen, ihnen die Hand entgegenzustrecken etc. Allgemeiner Aufruhr und Aufregung. Nach einer Weile nehmen die beiden Bahro, so scheint es, den toten Bahro und verschwinden. Douglas Sharper scheint seit einer Weile nicht mehr anwesend zu sein.

Eine neue Nachricht: Bahros in der Stadt. Also linkt alles dorthin. Die Bahro tummeln sich auf den Dächern von Tokotah und später auf der Bibliothek. Unter der Anleitung von Ireenquench und Thend formieren die Forscher das Friedenssymbol der Bahro. Dann herrscht Konfusion, ob es das richtige Zeichen war. Die Bahro beobachten die Forscher von den Dächern. Plötzlich kommt die Nachricht, dass Kirel eröffnet sei. Also machen sich die Forscher dorthin auf den Weg. Sie werden von Cate Alexander und Victor Laxman erwartet. Da die Forscher verständlicherweise von den vorherigen Ereignissen noch sehr aufgewühlt sind, stellen sie immer wieder Fragen über die Bahro. Cate Alexander hat bald genug und sagt, sie geht, weil sie diese Fragen nicht beantworten will. Sie möchte etwas zu Kirel sagen, doch es ist wohl der verkehrte Zeitpunkt. Sie geht in Myss Terrie’s Bevin, dort wird die Fragestellung auch nicht viel anders. Sie geht endgültig. Victor Laxman bleibt noch ein paar Minuten und antwortet auf die Frage, wann Jalak freigegeben wird: Donnerstag oder Freitag.

Es ist sehr merkwürdig, wieder hier zu sein. Es ist anders…wieder hier zu sein. Ich habe eine Menge erlebt. Die Dinge verändern sich. Ich war kurz in Noloben…und an vielen anderen Orten. Ich habe Dinge gesehen…jetzt verstehe ich alles besser. Über die Ereignisse…und die Bahro…und die Veränderungen. Sie versammeln sich. …hier auch?

Alle bejahen: ja, die Bahro versammeln sich auch in D’ni.

Phil:
Aber nicht so wie dort. Hier sind nur wenige. Sie kommen und gehen, aber…manchmal verdunkelt sich der Himmel. Gute und Böse, sie verdunkeln den Himmel. Versammlung. In vielen Zeitaltern, sogar in Releeshahn. Dort habe ich erst kürzlich gesehen, wie sich der Himmel verdunkelte. Sie kämpfen dort. Es wird dunkel, nur durch ihre große Anzahl. Ja, sie kommen und gehen und sie kämpfen dort. Sie können jetzt ihren eigenen Weg wählen. Freiheit. Niemand kontrolliert sie mehr. Yessha kann es. Die letzten sind frei. Das sollte der Weg sein. Keine Freiheit durch Yeesha, sie versagte. Sie kämpfen, Gute und Böse. Die Bahros haben gewählt und sie kämpfen.

Phil wird gefragt, wer den Bahros die Freiheit gegeben hat.

Er sagt: Ihr und andere. Ihr habt sie aus ihrem Gefängnis befreit. Es war die erste Befreiung. Es geht weiter. Sie müssen frei sein. Aber Freiheit bringt Auswahl. Ich vertraue Yeesha. Sie kennt sich aus. Sie kommt und geht. Sie spielt eine Rolle. Aber manchmal sehen wir sie. Sie beobachtet, sie nimmt Rücksicht, sie wächst. Sie ist oft dort, in Releeshahn. Die Wahl der Bahro betrifft uns alle, sogar Yeesha. Aber sie hat viel Kraft. Manche Bahro beobachten Euch. Im Guten und im Schlechten…Hier in den Höhlen beobachten sie…und beschützen auch.

Nun erscheint Douglas Sharper. Er ruft: Es ist also wahr! Du bist hier!

Phil: Hallo Douglas!

Douglas: Ich kann es nicht glauben!

Phil: Es war eine lange Zeit für mich, die ich fort war.

Douglas: Phil…es tut mir leid!

Phil: es lag nicht an Dir, Douglas. Es war, was es war.

Douglas: Ich war krank…es tut so gut, Dich wiederzusehen. Warst Du mit den Bahro zusammen?

Phil: Ich freue mich auch, Dich wiederzusehen. Es tut mir leid, dass ich nicht eher zurückgekommen bin. Es gab soviel zu lernen.

Douglas: ich kann es nicht glauben, Du warst mit den Bahro zusammen?

Phil: ja. Sie versammeln sich.

Douglas: das hat mich aufgeschreckt.

Phil: das ist erst der Anfang

Douglas: es hat mir Angst gemacht

Phil: es ist nur ein Scharmützel…am Rande.

Douglas: Ich habe einen getötet.

Phil: ich weiß

Douglas: Vielleicht habe ich einen Fehler gemacht. Es ging vor mir her…

Phil: Sie haben uns alle vor Deinem Fehler beschützt und es kostete ein Leben.

Douglas: Ich war sauer. Weißt Du, was sie mit Wheely gemacht haben?

Phil: Ich weiß. Es war ihre Entscheidung. Wheely entdeckte einen Ort, den sie nicht sehen sollte.

Douglas: Aber weißt Du, was sie ihr angetan haben? Ihr Körper…

Phil: es gibt Bösartige. Sie haben sich für das Böse entschieden, für das sehr böse. Sie sind frei.

Douglas: ich habe so etwas noch nie vorher gesehen.

Phil: Sie sind auch gut, sie haben sich auch für das Gute entschieden.

Douglas: und sie haben mich gerettet. Mehr als einmal.

Phil: Sie haben uns alle vor einem ersten Krieg bewahrt.

Douglas: Ich gehe nicht wieder zurück. Ich glaube, sie kommen her.

Phil: sie werden uns beschützen solange sie können.

Douglas: und für wie lange ist das?

Phil: aber es gibt woanders größere Kriege. Die meisten ruhen sich von den Kriegen aus. Sie wählen…

Douglas: ich kann es immer noch nicht glauben, dass Du wieder da bist, Phil. Es ist gut, Dich wiederzuhaben.

Phil: …sie wählen ihre Seiten… ich bin hier um bei den Vorbereitungen zu helfen.

Douglas: Ich verstehe, was Du meinst.

Phil: Du hast Deine Seite gewählt. Ich sehe das. Sie sehen es ebenfalls. Du hast Dich entschieden, ihr beizustehen.

Douglas: Ich habe gesehen, was die Bösen angerichtet haben. Meine Entscheidung war einfach.

Phil: Das kommt immer zuerst…eine kleine Begründung…aber trotzdem eine Begründung. Was ist der Kern einer jeden Entscheidung?

Ein Bahro taucht plötzlich auf. Viele Forscher verbeugen sich vor dem Bahro und gehen näher an ihn heran, umzingeln ihn fast.

Phil: haltet bitte Abstand. Zeigt Respekt vor den Bahro, die Euer Leben beschützen. Ich muss gehen…aber er wird zurückkehren. Ich komme bald zurück, aber er wird später zurückkehren. Mit mehr Antworten.
